Chao Phraya River Transportation in Bangkok

Created a plan to use the ferry efficiently in the Bangkok sightseeing schedule.
Of course it includes to visit upstream and downstream terminal piers.

Day 1 : Pak Kret Pier to Phra Arthit Pier

          (The hotel was near Khaosan Road.)

Day 2 : Phra Arthit Pier to Wat Rajsingkorn Pier

Orange Flag : Nonthaburi - Wat Rajsingkorn

  Day 1  

Pak Kret Pier

It is terminal pier of Green Flag Boat.
Here is the farthest end of this Boat Line.
Arrived by MRT and public bus.

Got off the bus under the Rama Ⅳ Bridge.

There is a pier ahead of this.

There is a toilet.
The price is 3B.

Took a walk to the pier.

After this I noticed a big problem.
It was already passed 12 o'clock at that time.
So, the next boat to leave here is at 16:10.
I could not wait until then and had to change the plan.
But I didn't have information how to go to Nonthabri which was terminal pier of Orange Express Line.

Lunch

If this kind of situation happened, acting calm is necessary.
A local restaurant is in front of the pier.
I decided to consider about measures while eating here.

MENU

Noodle soup

The price is 30 B.

I was a little surprised at the low price.

As a result of thinking calmly, I made a new plan to arrive at the destination.
It is an approach to river boat from MTR Tao Poon Station.
The plan is based on the information in my smartphone.

Bang Po Pier

Walk along Pracha Rat Sai Rd from Tao Poon MRT station.
This pier can be find at the end of the road.
But this pier was not available.

I felt lost what should I do.
I had no more information.
So tried to get information from local people.
And I heard that a pier exist in upstream direction.

Wat Soi Thong Pier

About 20 minutes on foot.
Found the pier under Rama VI Bridge.
It was a long way to reach.

Heading to Phra Arthit Pier

Let's start to enjoy long-awaited river cruising.

Today's schedule did not go as planned.

  Day 2  

Reflecting on the events of the previous day, reconfirming the boat operation schedule.

Phra Arthit Pier

In the early morning, arrive at the pier as planned.

Orange Flag boat came soon.
The fare is 15 B.
Let's enjoy river cruise until terminal pier.

I got lucky with great weather and enjoyed it very much.

Wat Rajsingkorn Pier

A Pier where a lot of boats are anchored appeared.
It was an impression different from Pak Kret Pier.

I was able to act on schedule today.

Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok

City : Bangkok (Krung Thep), Thailand

When going to southern Thailand, it is common to use here.

This facility is located on Borommaratchachonnani Rd.

It is a suburb of Bangkok and is the terminal station of public buses.

  In the terminal  

Some kind of facilities are available in this terminal that are ATM, luggage counter, restaurant, convenience store and shops.

Ground floor : Parking, Taxi, Minibus, Shops etc.

Middle floor : Parking, Shops

1st floor  : Ticket, Shops, Gate for Platform

2nd floor : Food Court, Shops

Shopping space

It is a common shopping area.
There are also daily necessities, sundries, appliances and restaurants.

This area is larger than Ekkamai and smaller than Mo Chit.

Lunch

Had lunch at food court on the second floor.
It was relatively small area.

Eastern Bus Terminal Bangkok

 City : Bangkok (Krung Thep), Thailand

When going to eastern Thailand, it is common to use here.

This facility is located on Sukhumvit road.

Public buses and BTS can be used to get here.

The ticket office area is not large.

Several bus companies are operated.

So there were multiple ticket windows for Pattaya.

Other destinations were also same situation.

Please check the price and where you can get off.

The result can be helped the judgment to choice.

It is a platform of the bus terminal.

There is no restaurant in it.

There is only a small store.

But in front of it, on Sukhumvit road, food stalls can be find.

The platform number for Pattaya is 1.

This bus is always fully booked.

Free toilet is available.

Formerly, the use here was chargeable.

It's better to finish before boarding.

Public Transportation Center in Suvarnabhumi

I went to Pattaya from the airport via this facility.

This platform is not wide and you won't get lost.

There is no restaurant but is one convenience store here.

There are two system of ticket counters.

If want to go to Pattaya North Bus Terminal, need to get off on the way.

Nong Prue Private air field in Pattaya

 City : Pattaya, Chon Buri Thailand

It is an airfield about 10 km southeast from Central Pattaya.

Visited in hopes that could see the takeoff and landing of some plane.

It's on Thung Klom-Tan Man 29 Rd.

Then let's get into the airfield from the road.

The runway is lawn and the length is 480m.

Unfortunately the plane did not fly due to not good weather condition.

Next time I will visit on a sunny day.

 

Short trip to Koh Larn in Pattaya

 City : Pattaya, Chon Buri Thailand

When staying in Pattaya, it is recommended to go to Koh Larn.
The more beautiful beach can be enjoyed. 

I went to Koh Larn twice during this stay.

  Day 1  

The weather on this day is cloudy and windy.
Get on a ferry at 8:00 am, hoping for the weather to change sunny.
And arrived at Tawaen Beach Pier.
The wind is blowing strongly, I did not notice it on the sea.

Most of the passengers get off and the lightened ship is much swayed by the waves.
The passengers still on board were struggling to get off.

The weather does not recover.

Furthermore, unfortunately, my stomach has gone bad.

So this day I withdrew. Avoided reckless behavior while traveling.

  Day 2  

It is a challenge again.

As before, I arrived at Tawaen Beach Pier by ferry.

The weather and my physical condition are good on the day.

Tawaen Beach

Here is the most recommended beach.

There is a pier for liner ferry and it has beautiful water.

There is a floating pier in center of the beach.
Various tour boats will be find here.

Walk this pier.

It shakes by the waves, but it can be walked with safety because it is wide.

Para glider

Moved to view area to see the beach from above.

Then there were people who enjoy paragliding in front of Giant Monk in Guanyin Temple.

They were floating in the sky comfortably.

I go further up from here.

Tawan Beach View Point

There is a statue in the center of observation deck and the beach can be overlooked. 

I go further up from here.

Buddha's Footprint

It can be arrived here after climbing steep stairs.

Sweat a lot. However, the beautiful sight can be seen from the stair.

This seems to be the footprint.

I was surrounded by dogs on the way, when you come please be careful.

Walking Pattaya Park Tower

 City : Pattaya, Chon Buri Thailand

This tower is the tallest building in Pattaya.
However, it is my impression that is not busy season every visit.

  Information  

The tower is 170 meter tall.
From the rooftop of the top floor you can get off the ground in three ways using wires. Tower Jump, Speed shuttle and Sky shuttle.
Hotel, water park, amusement park are attached on site.

  At day time  

I have known the monorail existence, but I had not seen train moving.
This is first time that I saw it move.
When I saw it, got happy feeling and took video.
